Myanmar Impact Team

Myanmar Impact Team

The Myanmar Impact Team is made up of different people who have worked in Myanmar before, and who are looking forward to going for the first time. Most are part of Calvary Church in State College, PA. We are building upon many people’s efforts, which have paved the way for the current work.

The vision of the Myanmar Impact Team is threefold:

  • Preaching: Get the presentation of the Gospel into unreached people groups of Myanmar by involvement in The International Calvary Theological Seminary (ICTS).
  • Orphans: Demonstrate the love and mercy of Jesus among the people of Myanmar and particularly children of significant need.
  • Agriculture: Develop resources and agri-enterprises which will foster improved quality of life for orphans and staff via improved: food security, health & nutrition, income and education.

The leaders of the Myanmar Impact team visited Myanmar in February 2011:

Dan Nold is lead pastor for Calvary Church. He has been to Myanmar five times, once with his entire family of six. In February, he led the teaching for a Bible conference, and helped to baptize 19 new believers, many of whom converted from Buddhism. He provides oversight for International Calvary Theological Seminary, a Bible school in Yangon, Myanmar, and works for economic and spiritual breakthrough in Myanmar. Read Dan’s blogs about Myanmar.

Dan Behringer is an engineer for Penn State. Dan’s family sponsors a child from Myanmar every month. When he got the opportunity to go to Myanmar to meet his sponsor child, he took it. While in Myanmar, Dan built a deeper relationship with his sponsor child, and spent a lot of time playing with the children. His play time imparted the love of God in a powerful way.

Chris Heinz is marketing director for EnergyCAP, Inc. He was asked to teach at a Bible conference in Myanmar. Although he hadn’t been involved with Myanmar before, he had a burden for Southeast Asia. He quickly fell in love with Myanmar by meeting the people, praying for them, and teaching at the conference. Chris’ passion is to see a prayer movement sweep Myanmar.
