Myanmar (formally known as Burma) is located in Southeast Asia, and is bordered by Thailand, China, Laos, Bangladesh, and India. The second largest nation in Southeast Asia, Myanmar is approximately the size of Texas. Its population is the 40th largest in the world with over 55 million people. Christianity is legal in Myanmar, but Christians are part of the Persecuted Church. Myanmar is primarily a Buddhist country and governed by a Socialist Military Regime.
